All ALS units operate under progressive standing orders, which include advanced airway procedures (paralytics), liberal treatment protocols and a highly developed trauma system. Paramedics are assigned to ALS ambulances and provide advance life support services for the citizens of Washington County. 

Paramedics are also assigned to the Special Events Division which provides medical coverage for the Portland Trailblazers, Indy Car Races, concerts, county and state fairs, and many other social and sporting events throughout the state.

 

 

Wages, Benefits & Work Schedules

Oregon EMT Certification

 

Oregon specifies three levels of EMT certifications. Most NREMT certified applicants are eligible to receive reciprocity with a provisional certification.
